Singer/songwriter Kari Kimmel will be joining a notable cast of celebrities performing to benefit the Aids California Walk. She will perform on Sunday, September 26th at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles. Kari will be performing her song, “Great Big World” as the closer for the AIDS/HIV benefit concert. She will start off on guitar, and will be joined by a children’s choir, as well as other performers from the concert. They include Hanson, Steve Lukather, Alan Parsons, Toad The Wet Sprocket, Shiela-E, James Ingram and any more.

Actress and activist Angelina Jolie traveled to Pakistan to bring attention the needs of the Pakistani people in the wake of recent catastrophic flooding. Jolie is an acting UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, and her travels to Pakistan has put her in touch with the people there to assess the needs and share the realities with people back home.

In an interview with Dr. Sanjay Gupta on CNN.com, Angelina shared her experiences and described the conditions and needs. Her description of meeting homeless couples, families and children living in extreme survival conditions depicted people living without the basic dignity that everyone deserves. She also shared that the issues Pakistan are dealing with are complex and difficult, with many people displaced from previous disasters and conflict. The main point Angelina Jolie shared in the interview was that the human need was great and personal.
